iTunes Gift Cards are Region Locked. If you’re trying to redeem a gift card that was purchased in a different country, make sure that you’re redeeming it in the same country’s iTunes Store. You can’t redeem gift cards outside of the country of purchase. For example, a gift card purchased in the United States can’t be redeemed in an iTunes Store in United Kingdom.

On an Android device, you can use your gift card to buy an Apple Music subscription. To make purchases from the App Store, Apple Books, or the Apple TV app, use an Apple device.

How To Check My iTunes Gift Card Balance?

To check your iTunes gift card balance from an iPhone:

Launch the App Store.
On the Today tab, tap your user icon in the top-right corner.
If you have iTunes credit, it displays below your name.

To check your iTunes gift card balance on a Mac or Windows PC running iTunes:

Launch iTunes and ensure you’re signed in under Account > Sign in. You’ll see your Apple ID at the top of the dropdown list if you’re signed in.

Try entering your redemption code manually. When you redeem an App Store & iTunes Gift Card or redeem an Apple Gift Card, tap or click “You can also enter your code manually.” Make sure that you enter the redemption code that begins with “X”, not a different number on the card.
Make sure that you enter the correct characters. Some letters and numbers look alike, such as:

B and 8
D and O
E and 3

G and 6
O and Q
O and 0

S and 5
U and V
Z and 2

Can I Use iTunes Gift Cards For Apple Music?

You can use your iTunes gift card to pay for an Apple Music subscription. Redeem your card as described above, then start an Apple Music subscription using the Music app on your iPhone, Mac, or Android phone. On a Windows PC, you can subscribe to Apple Music using iTunes.

As long as you have credit on your Apple ID, your subscription will deduct from that balance. Once it runs out, you’ll be charged on your primary payment method instead.

Yes. As mentioned above, all digital purchases you make with your Apple account will automatically use your Apple ID balance first. This means you can use your iTunes balance for in-app purchases, including both subscriptions and one-time purchases.

Beware of any in-app purchases that charge a payment method directly (like ride-sharing apps or food delivery services) since they will charge the credit card you have on file for that particular merchant instead.

What should I do, if the Card is not activated?

If you see a message that says that your card has not been properly activated, it might not have been activated by the retailer who sold the card. The best option is to go back to the retailer and try to resolve it with them.

Is It Possible Use iTunes Gift Cards In The Apple Store?

No. iTunes gift cards must be redeemed for digital Apple services on the App Store, iTunes, Apple Books, and similar. Apple Store gift cards are a separate product used for Apple hardware. They are usable at physical Apple Store locations, as well as Apple’s online store.

Code is redeemed in a different country or region?

If you see a message that says the code must be redeemed in another storefront, the card was probably purchased in another country or region. You can’t redeem Apple Gift Cards or App Store & iTunes Gift Cards outside of the country or region of purchase.
